Monday, August 7th

 

         10:30 am

         Arrive in Roosevelt, Utah State University, Roosevelt Campus, 987 Lagoon Street

(At the traffic light in the center of Roosevelt, turn east onto Lagoon St., there is a Wells Fargo Bank on the corner, continue east through the 4-way stop, the University Campus will be on your left in about 2 blocks. Park on the street or in parking lot adjacent to the large main building, where we will meet. The building resembles a barn.)

            11:00 am

                   Board buses to Newfield Production

          11:30 am

Arrive at Newfield Production for a mini oilfield expo to include information on 1) Exploration and Drilling Operations; 2) Transportation; 3) Oil Field Supply and Support Industries; 4) Workover Rigs

          12:00 pm

                   Steak BBQ Lunch at Newfield

          12:30 pm

                  Welcome by local Legislators and overview by County Commissioners

            1:00 pm

                   Industry presentations followed by question and answer period

            2:00 pm

                   Board buses for tour of oil production sites

            3:30 pm

                   Buses head back to Utah State University, Roosevelt

            4:00 pm

                   Leave for Vernal

            5:30 pm

                     Buffet Dinner begins at Western Park Convention Center, 300 E 200 S, Vernal

            7:30 pm

                     Public Meeting begins at Western Park Convention Center, 300 E 200 S, Vernal


DETAIL:

10:30 am - Upon arrival in Roosevelt each Legislator will receive a custom satchel with agenda, water, and assorted items, along with a pouch of items made from wax based petroleum and oil products.

11:00 am - On board each bus, along with Legislators, will be County Officials, Local Leaders, and Industry Representatives.

  2:00 pm - The tour will include several stops. Discussions will include drilling rig operations, refinery issues, enveiron-mental issues, BLM permitting process, and future production opportunities.

                     Breakfast begins at Western Park

          9:00 am

                     Opening remarks by Commissioner Mike McKee

                     Presentation by Andrew Bremner, IPAMS

          9:30 am

                     Board buses for trip to Vernal Theater

          10:00 am

                   Vernal Theater, Oil & Gas Production

                     Discussion, Question and Answer Session

          11:30 am

                   Walk across the street to Uintah County Dinosaur Gardens for lunch

          12:00 pm

                   Lunch begins

          1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

                   Board vehicles for afternoon tours

                     Tours will consist of the following:

                              Temple Mountain Energy (Tar Sands)

                              Deseret Generation & Transmission (Power Plant)

                              OSEC (Oil Shale Mine)

                              Oil Tech (Oil Shale Extraction)

 

          Closing remarks to be made at the last tour stop.
