Legislative Printing Office

The Legislative Printing Office (LPO) was established in 1975 and placed under the direction of the Legislative Fiscal Analyst. It provides typesetting, graphics, printing and publishing services to the legislature, its staff offices and other state agencies. LPO was assigned responsibility for the Legislative Bill Room in the mid-nineties.

Session Responsibilities:

Hours of Operation: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday - The printing office is open through the Bill Room whenever the Legislature is on the floor including late nights during the General Session

During the General Legislative Session, the major responsibilities of the LPO include preparation and printing of the daily Senate and House Journals, printing of House and Senate bills, amendments, agendas, status sheets and miscellaneous printing as needed by the legislature.

Interim Responsibilities:

Hours of Operation: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday

In the interim, the office publishes the final bound versions of the House and Senate Journals, Laws of Utah, reports, newsletters, manuals, management audits and other legislative and state agency publications. The LPO is also responsible for the distribution of most Legislative publications. The LPO also coordinates bulk purchases of the Utah Code Annotated and Utah Code Unnanotated for Utah's Governmental entities in order to obtain substantial cost savings to the state.

    Janice A. Gadd: (jgadd@le.utah.gov) Janice is the Supervisor in charge of the Legislative Printing Office. During the legislative session she is the Journal Clerk for the House of Representatives.
    Terry Lake: (tlake@le.utah.gov) Terry is the Office Manager and is in charge of accounts payable/receivable and coordination and circulation of publications. She also manages the Legislative Bill Room.
    Mary Andrus: (mandrus@le.utah.gov) Mary is a Legislative Publication Specialist and typesetter. During the legislative session she is the Journal Clerk for the Utah State Senate.
    Willie Smith: (wsmith@le.utah.gov) Willie is the Print Shop Manager. He runs all of the printing equipment in the shop.
